L’Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the list of animation film vying for the nomination for the Oscar 2022. Among these appear the wonderful Lucathe recent box office hit Encantothe critically acclaimed The Mitchells vs. the Machinesand the Disney film Raya and the last Dragon.
I’m 26 animated films eligible to represent the category at the 2022 Oscars this year. In 2019 the selected films had reached a record of 32, but with the pandemic something has changed. Now there is less animation, but still of great quality. Of these feature films, only five will be nominated for the section Best Animated Feature from the Academy. Films submitted to compete for the Oscars are also eligible in other categories, including Best Picture.

The nomination will be announced theFebruary 8, 2022with the awards ceremony set for March 27, 2022.
