New animated classic “by Disney”, this film is the second of its kind to be released directly on Disney+ in France. From the minds of the creatives behind Raya and the Last Dragon, Avalonia, the strange journey offers rather positive reviews. Indeed, the animated film points to notes of 75% for Rotten Tomatoes and 66/100 for Metacritic. Nevertheless, the graphic quality and the work around the visuals and the universe of the film is largely underlined. For example, Courtney Howard, reviewer for Variety, said recently on his Twitter account that Avalonia, the strange journey is “a large-scale adventure fantasy film”. She also points out “colorful world-building and exciting characters.“The film also shines with its themes and the way they are exploited. Thus, the review states: “Her messages about legacy and the need to make the world a better place are charming and disarming..”
