Know who plays who and their differences between the series and the cartoon
“Fate: The Winx Saga” already has two seasons available on Netflixand is based on a classic cartoon from the 2000s. Because of this, many fans notice some differences between the live-action series and “The Winx Club”, whether in the plot of the story or even in the characteristics of the characters, which may be the presence of new characters or the absence of some old acquaintances.
Therefore, Recreio brought some of the characters we already know and that are in the new version and also the changes they went through.
1. Bloom
Bloom is a fire fairy who discovered her magical powers and her origins at the age of 16, when she started attending a magic school. In the live-action series, she is portrayed by Abigail Cowen.
One difference that many fans noticed between the show and the Netflix production is the love triangle between Bloom, Sky and Stella. While in the series we see a conflict between the three involved, in animation the fairies are best friends and Bloom starts dating the Specialist right at the beginning of the story.
2. Aisha

Aisha is one of Bloom’s roommates, being the water fairy. The character only appeared in the second season of the animation and has a few more magical abilities than we saw in the new version, such as being able to manipulate a pink substance, which serves as a shield, bubble or magic ray. Precious Mustapha was in charge of interpreting the fairy in the series.
3. Stella

Heiress to the kingdom of Solaria, Stella is played in the remake by the actress Hannah van der Westhuizen. She is a fairy of light, and is also one of Bloom’s roommates, even being best friends with the fire fairy in the cartoon. Another characteristic point of Stella in the animated version is that she makes her own clothes and dreams of being a stylist.
4. Muse

The character that had the biggest change in regards to her powers was Muse. Interpreted by Elisha Applebaum, in the animated series the character is a kind of music fairy, as her magic is related to sound waves. Already in the live-action version, she is the fairy of the mind and an empath, which allows her to feel everything that the people around her feel.
5. Sky

Being a specialist, Sky’s job is to protect the fairies of Alfea, and the actor is responsible for bringing the character to life. Danny Griffin. It is worth remembering that, in animation, specialists go to another school, not having the same frequency of contact with fairies, as we saw in “Fate: The Winx Saga”.
6. Riven

One character that had his way changed was Riven. The expert is played by Freddie Thorp in the Netflix production, he is a bit rebellious and likes to tease the fairies. In the cartoon, however, he is quieter, and has an on-again, off-again relationship with the Muse.
7. Beatrix

Being an air fairy, who can manipulate electricity, Beatrix is the story’s villain in both live-action and animation. But there is a big difference: in the animated version, she is an evil fairy, who attends another magic school and creates plans to attack Alfea along with her two sisters, while in the series she studies at the same school as the Winx, and we still haven’t had the opportunity to meet her sisters. The actress Sadie Soverall plays the character.
8. Vanessa and Mike

In the Netflix series, we see that the relationship between Bloom and her adoptive parents, Vanessa and Mike, is not the best – greatly differentiating the design. The couple is played by Eva Birthistle and Josh Cowderyrespectively.
While in the live-action there are conflicts between Bloom and Vanessa, in the old animation we see that there is a much stronger and more loving relationship between mother and daughter. Still in the first version of the story, Mike is a firefighter, which makes him control his daughter’s situation when she starts using her magic. It’s important to point out that Bloom doesn’t come as close to killing her parents as we saw in the remake.
9. Queen Luna

Interpreted by Kate Fleetwood in the remake, Queen Luna is Stella’s mother and rules the kingdom of Solaria, managing to absorb the power of the Moon. In the animated series, her ex-husband Radius’s powers are merged with the Sun of Solaria.
