That’s it ! While fans have been waiting for several years now for the continuation of the adventures of Miles Morales on the big screen, sony just shared a new trailer for the next animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseas well as a first official release date. We tell you more below.

Many fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel to the film Spider-Man: Next Generation (Where Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in VO) released in 2018, which featured Marvel Comics character Miles Morales, second iteration of the superhero Spider-Man. The next opus, titled Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versewas originally scheduled to be released last April, then it was pushed back to October, before finally being shifted to June of next year.
But it looks like fans can finally see the end of the tunnel, as Sony Pictures Animation, one of the film’s production companies, has just shared. a brand new trailer for the upcoming animated feature film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
We can thus see that a first official release date has been shared by Sony Pictures, with a theatrical release scheduled for June 2, 2023. In this new trailer, we can thus see some excerpts from the first part, succinctly showing the evolution of Miles Morales as the new Spider-Man, as well as the way in which he asserted himself as a superhero. .
The next film will therefore directly follow the events of new generation, where we can find Miles Morales immersed in the heart of the Spider-Verse in order to protect his world. He will then be accompanied by Gwen Stacy, but also by Miguel O’Hara, known in particular under the name of Spider-Man 2099. Miles will thus meet many different iterations of his character as he discovers new worlds, also leading him to face many dangers.
This new trailer thus offers us some glimpses of the next opus, in which we can notably see the protagonist alongside a myriad of alternative Spider-Man. But it’s also an opportunity to see a little-known version of Spider-Woman, who will apparently face an enemy that looks a lot like the Vulture.. Finally, we can also see snippets of fights, with Miles who will be confronted with his countless alter egos, but especially the confrontation which will oppose him to the formidable Spider-Man of 2099.
A next opus which therefore seems to fully exploit the concept of the multiverse, discovered in part in the first part of 2018, but also in phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, everything suggests that it is with the new film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse that this notion will indeed take on its full meaning.
We also note that Sony Pictures does not seem to have chosen Jessica Drew’s Spider-Woman as a female iteration of the superheroineprobably due to the fact that the American subsidiary of the Japanese giant must share the rights of this character with Marvel.
