Guillermo Del Toro gives us a darker version of his #Pinocchio by confronting his wooden puppet with the difficulty of his time (war, in particular). There is also a nice lesson in family and beautiful life values towards the heartbreaking end. #PinocchioNetflix pic.twitter.com/CHdMWPNybc

15. Pinocchio by Guillermo Del Toro

Released yesterday on Netflix, it’s a bit of a cheat, but I wanted to salute this marvel of animation which has the merit of being very surprising in the themes it addresses (death and fascism, which final, sticks 100% to Del Toro) pic.twitter.com/dN009eGT8M

I was expecting it especially for GDT (which remains one of my favorite sheaves, top 3).
But I was skeptical about this project. Honestly make yet another version of Pinocchio… There’s more exciting, huh.
Good bah, he will finish in the top 10 of 2022ud83dudc4fu2764ufe0f

The adaptations of Pinocchio follow each other but are not alike. And after the far too silly version of Zemeckis for Disney+, I really liked Del Toro and his stop motion wooden puppet for Netflixhttps://t.co/6Dh1knegmM

Poetry and touching melancholy, a totally personal version of Del Toro, both dark and full of beauty. We laugh, we cry, we smile and we think…

The best version of this story to ever exist-
Unflinching In it’s Narrative
