With an upbeat pop soundtrack and colorful backdrops, sing 2 it repeats the elements that were successful in the first film to tell a story that shows that, to succeed in the entertainment world, it often takes more than talent. In the animation, shown at the cinema, the koala Buster Moon and his friends – beloved characters from the original such as the little pig Rosita and the elephant Meena – try to convince a businessman, a cruel and greedy wolf, that their show deserves to be mounted in one of the major theaters in the world.
Koala Buster Moon and his pals are back with a new, bigger show in Sing 2.
On this difficult mission to impress industry bosses, Johnny, the gorilla played by Fiuk in the feature, will need to learn a complex choreography under the command of a teacher who constantly humiliates him and doubts his ability. In an interview with Crescer, Fiuk admitted identifying with the struggles his character faces in Sing 2. “I have ADHD, so for a while, at school, even my father thought I was lazy or that I didn’t want to study. And, it wasn’t that, I was paying attention, but I really couldn’t understand some things. The pain is much greater when you want to learn and you can’t. You feel isolated,” the 31-year-old singer said. “I identified a lot with the difficulties that Johnny faces in this film. He is on the verge of giving up a few times, but shows the importance of moving forward, bouncing back in the worst moments. He is not a teacher who does not understand you who will end your life ”.

On the journey to regain confidence in himself, Johnny will have the help of Nooshy, a street dancer lynx who won the voice of Ana Gabrielly. “Nooshy arrives full of energy to help Johnny overcome his dance challenge. She shows a lot of loyalty, is always helping others and is very fun and cool,” says the 19-year-old singer. “From where I came from, you have to go after it to be an artist, no one will give you an opportunity. So I identify with her because Nooshy is also in the running.”

In addition to Nooshy, another standout among the characters who debut in the franchise is Clay, a lion ex-rock star who moved away from music after the death of his wife. Even knowing the feline’s reclusive nature, Buster and his friends will do everything to try to convince him to participate in the show and perform for the first time in over 20 years. For Paulo Ricardo, the actor who voices Clay, the story is a metaphor for the current rock scene. “Clay creates a connection with the other characters through the lovely Ash, a rocker who represents a longing for rock music to come back,” explains the 59-year-old singer. “It’s definitely rock’n roll within a very pop context. And this is very cool to see for us, who are defenders of this rhythm and we root for a new generation”.

If Clay helps Buster and the gang find a loyal audience, the wolf Porscha, voiced by Lexa, is a thorn in the side of the troupe. Daughter of the evil Jimmy Cristal, the businessman who provides the money for the production of the play, Porscha is not used to being contradicted and tries to be the star of the show even without any experience. “Porscha has a lot of personality. She is fun, gives herself in everything she does and is able to learn from mistakes. Even with the flaws, I am in love with her and I believe that the public will be enchanted too”, says the 26-year-old singer.
Sing 2 is suitable for all ages and should entertain from the youngest to parents with its lively musical numbers and charismatic characters.
