The European Film Academy announced the nominees in three categories of European Film Awards : European comedy, European animated feature film and European short film.
The nominations in the European comedy category were decided by a committee bringing together members of the Academy’s management committee and European film professionals. The committee that chose the nominees in the European Animated Feature category was made up of representatives from the Academy and CARTOON, the European Association for Animation Cinema. The committees will be presented on www.europeanfilmawards.eu after the end of the nomination phase. The Best European Short Film category is organized by the European Film Academy in collaboration with a series of festivals across Europe. At each of these festivals, an independent jury offered one of the European short films in competition an application. Out of the full list of these titles, which number 29, the participating festivals have nominated five films for the European Film Awards. The 4400 members of the European Film Academy will elect the winners.
