The animation studio TAT Productionsbased in Toulouse since its creation in 2000, which employs more than 230 people, continues to grow in France and internationally. Every year, the studio based rue Riquet, at the top of the Jean Jaurès alleys, creates the event almost every year with the release of a film.
“Pattie” distributed in 70 countries…
At the start of 2023, the long-awaited “Pattie and the Wrath of Poseidon”, fourth feature film from the Pink City studio, will be released in French cinemas, before an international deployment. “Spain, Italy, England, Switzerland, United States… More than 70 countries are sold in the world on this film”, explains to Toulouse news Jean-François Tosti, producer and co-founder of TAT.

The story takes place in Yolcos, a beautiful and prosperous port city in ancient Greece. But the lives of its inhabitants are turned upside down when the population is suddenly threatened by the wrath of Poseidon. A young adventurous mouse and the cat who adopted him will then unknowingly help old Jason and his Argonauts in their quest to save the city… A film where one of the main attractions will be the role of Zeus, with a dubbing of the voice provided by a certain… Pierre Richard!
A film on which many hopes since Jean-Francois Tosti, Eric Tosti and David Alaux hope to reach, with this film, the fateful bar of one million entries in the dark rooms of the Hexagon. Film budget: 10 million euros, including 260,000 euros financed by the Occitanie Region. “We are far from the 200 million euro budget for a Pixar film”, manager Jean-François Tosti.
“We know what we will do until 2029! »
But the Toulouse animation studio, which has 1800 m2 trays, is not the type to work and plan in the small week. “We know what we will do until 2028 or even 2029! smiles Jean-François Tosti.
“Asterix”, “The Jungle Bunch 2″…
From 2023, after the wanderings of the Pattie mouse, TAT will continue its work on the “Asterix” series created by Alain Chabat,which will be broadcast on the Netflix platform in 2024. “It’s a dream that has come true”, comments Jean-François Tosti. Currently, the studio is working on the storyboard, ie all of the film’s shots, in 2D.
On August 16, 2023, just before going back to school, “Les Aces de la Jungle 2” will be released.following the adventures unbridled by Maurice the penguin-tiger or Miguel the gorilla. A long-awaited sequel to TAT’s most iconic (and best-known to the public) universe. So much so that TAT signed a partnership with Toulouse FCthe mascots of Maurice and Miguel have now hosted the Family stand at the Stadium since the start of the 2022-2023 Ligue 1 season.

“Pil” will be available in series
At the same time, and faced with the success of “Pil”, especially abroad (see box below), the brothers Tosti and David Alaux began a heavy work to decline the adventures of the little orphan in the Middle Ages in series of 52 episodes.
In 2025, the release of “Farts on a train” while the year 2026 should be marked by the release of “Lovebirds”, on which work on the screenplay has just begun.
“Pil” is the second most seen French film abroad in 2022
The new episode of the success story of the Toulousains of TAT is one of the most recent. Indeed, “in 2022, Pil is the second most seen film abroad at the cinema behind “What did we do to God 3”, indicates Jean-François Tosti. The film, which was first released in France in August 2021, achieved 1.5 million admissions abroad, against 500,000 in France.
